Child car seats recalled over choking hazard and safety standards
A car seat available at Decathlon has been urgently recalled over a choking hazard it presents to young children, stemming from a detachable safety label on the harness strap. The affected product is the HAMAX Buddy Baby Seat, model code 8591602, item code 4091054, sold between 28.12.2020 and 06.08.2026.
If you have bought this car seat, keep it away from children's reach. Check the shoulder harness strap and, if the textile label displayed in the image is present, remove it by cutting it off entirely from the harness strap. Once the label has been removed, the choking hazard is eliminated and the seat can be safely used again.
The Axkid MiniKid Core car seat has also been recalled after failing to meet the required performance standards outlined under the manufacturer's own safety regulations. It is a belt-installed, extended rear-facing seat suitable for children from newborn up to approximately seven years of age. The product safety number is 2609-0213. Parents and guardians can visit Product Safety Message - Axkid to register for a free replacement, and will need the Car Seat ID, found on the product label underneath the car seat, to complete registration.
