Consumer champion Which? has highlighted a handful of everyday jobs where washing-up liquid can help, from tackling bathroom grime to sprucing up outdoor seating. In a short video shared on Facebook and TikTok, the experts said the grease-cutting power makes it a handy all-rounder and could reduce the need to buy lots of separate cleaning products.
Fixing a creaky door hinge
Which? says the product can even help with that irritating squeak from a door hinge. In the clip, a team member told viewers: "Fix a creaky door by squirting a small amount onto your noisy hinge and moving the door back and forth a few times."
The video continued: "Freshen up your garden furniture. A regular scrub with washing up liquid and warm water will keep it looking spick and span. Clean your bathroom. A squirt of washing up liquid makes light work of cleaning bathtubs and sinks due to its grease-busting power."

In response, social media users also shared their own recommendations. For example, a TikTok fan said: "It's the best stain remover, on a fresh stain washing up liquid will remove anything."
