A popular shampoo and conditioner set has been recalled due to a serious chemical risk. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) issued a warning about the Pilgrim Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and Conditioner Set, which has been withdrawn from sale.
The products, sold on Amazon, contain Zinc Pyrithione, a banned ingredient in cosmetic products. The affected items bear the code HS5130 Jul 2025 395.00 1.98. Amazon codes are B0D5DBM7G7 for the shampoo and B0D5D9BF3Q for the conditioner.
The OPSS cautioned that the products also contain undeclared allergens: hydroxycitronellal, hexyl cinnamal, and limonene, which could cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. The products do not meet the requirements of the EU Cosmetics Regulation.
The items have been removed from Amazon and turned away at the UK border. Pilgrim's shampoo and conditioners typically retail between £12 and £20 on Amazon.
