Sainsbury's has announced a half-price sale on selected fruit and vegetables for the entire bank holiday weekend, but shoppers will need a Nectar card to take advantage of the late-summer savings.
The supermarket chain is aiming to ease the pressure for families with children heading back to school next week by cutting the cost of its 'seasonal favourites'. As part of the offer, Nectar card holders will be able to stock up on items such as sweetcorn, peppers, mushrooms and mangoes for less.
Four-day promotion runs over the bank holiday
The bank holiday promotion runs from Friday (28 August) until Monday (31 August) and marks the first of four consecutive weekend Nectar Prices events running through late August and September.
The limited-time-only promotion has been introduced to ensure that loyal customers have access to healthy options at a time when packed lunches ramp up the cost of the weekly food shop.

The products included are Sainsbury's 100% British Sweetcorn Single Cob at 35p, and Taste the Difference Red Sweet Pointed Pepper at 37p. Also available are Sainsbury's White Large Flat Vitamin D Mushrooms 250g at 62p and Taste the Difference Summer Edition 100% British Baby Gems Potatoes at 77p.
How to claim the discount
People with Nectar need only scan their card or QR code on the app at checkout in-store or online to save.
