Sainsbury's is offering half-price Nectar Prices on selected fruit and vegetables from Friday, August 28, through to Monday, August 31. The promotion applies to four items — sweetcorn, peppers, mushrooms and mangoes — for customers who scan their Nectar card at the checkout.
Deals on sweetcorn, peppers, mushrooms and mangoes
A Sainsbury's Sweetcorn Single Cob drops from 70p to 35p, while a Taste the Difference Red Sweet Pointed Pepper falls from 75p to 37p. A pack of Sainsbury's White Large Flat Vitamin D Mushrooms 250g is available for 62p, down from £1.25, and a Sainsbury's Giant Mango costs 75p, half its usual price of £1.50.
Richard Crampton, Commercial Director for Fresh and Convenience at Sainsbury's, said the deal was designed to help shoppers eat well without stretching their budgets. "We know customers are looking for great value without compromising on the quality of the food they bring home," he said. "That's why we're offering half-price Nectar Prices on selected fruit and vegetables, making it easier to put fresh, nutritious food on the table over the Bank Holiday weekend and beyond."
How to redeem the discounts
In-store shoppers need to scan their Nectar card at the till, while online orders will have the savings applied automatically if their Nectar and Sainsbury's accounts are linked. Non-members can sign up via the Nectar app or the Nectar website in a few minutes.
Beyond the fruit and veg offers, Sainsbury's also has hundreds of Aldi Price Match products across everyday essentials, giving shoppers further opportunities to cut costs on the weekly shop.
Bank Holiday opening times
Sainsbury's confirmed that the vast majority of its supermarkets will be open from 7am until 8pm on Monday, August 31, while its convenience stores will be open as normal from 7am to 11pm. Most Argos stores will be open from 9am to 8pm, or in line with the store or centre hours for store-in-store locations on Bank Holiday Monday.
