A 50p coin is being sold on eBay for over £37,000. The coin, which features Queen Elizabeth II and the Battle of Hastings on the other side, dates back to 2016, and is being sold for over 74,000 times its face value.

Brits should check their pockets to see if they own a rare coin that could be worth tens of thousands, as eBay has plenty of coins that go for a fortune.
The Royal Mint has also shared on its website the rarest coins of 2026, with the Atlantic Salmon 2023 being the rarest 50p coin; only 20,000 were minted.
The website reads: "In 2023, the Atlantic salmon became the rarest 50p coin in circulation. Part of eight new definitive designs representing flora and fauna from across all four UK nations following His Majesty King Charles III’s accession to the throne, it entered circulation at the end of November 2023."
