Residents across the North East have won £1,000 each in the Postcode Lottery this week. Winning areas included South Shields, Sunderland, North Shields and addresses in Northumberland, along with locations in County Durham and Hartlepool.
Winning postcodes announced
The winning areas were selected between Sunday, September 19 and Friday, September 25. Participants in the Postcode Lottery pay £12.50 per month, using their full home postcode as their entry. At least 30% of the ticket price goes directly to charities and local community projects.
£1.8 billion raised for good causes
Players have now raised more than £1.8 billion for thousands of good causes in Britain and internationally. This funding supports charities including Maggie's, Alzheimer’s Society, Dogs Trust, Mind, NSPCC and many others, as well as thousands of small local community projects.
