More than two million sweets have been recalled in America due to a choking hazard that could lead to serious injury or death. The sour candy bottles by Ricky Joy sold in the US have been recalled as the rolling ball on the bottles can detach and become a choking hazard, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday.
Choking Risk Details
The commission warned: “The rolling ball on the recalled candy bottles can detach, posing a risk of serious injury or death from choking hazard.”
The products were sold individually as well as in multipacks of three and 12. They were available in blue raspberry, strawberry, green apple and watermelon flavours.
Where and How the Sweets Were Sold
They were sold at several stores nationwide in America, including online at Walmart from January 2023. The sweets were sold for around $3 per bottle and between $13 and $32 for a pack. They contain 1.85 fluid ounces of sour liquid candy to be applied through the bottle’s rollerball top.
Refund and Safety Advice
No injuries have been reported due to the product. The Ricky Joy Company will issue a full refund to customers who contact them. They warn customers to dispose of the item immediately and ensure they are not left in reach of children due to the choking hazard.
