Eighteen postcodes across the North East have won £1,000 each in the People's Postcode Lottery this week, with winning areas spanning County Durham, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, and North Yorkshire.
The winning postcodes were selected between Saturday, August 22nd and Friday, August 28th. While Saturday's draw produced no big winners in the region, winners were still found across the North East on most days of the week.
How the Postcode Lottery Works
The People's Postcode Lottery charges participants £12.50 per month, using their full home postcode as their entry. A minimum of 30% of the ticket price goes directly to charities and local community projects.
Since 2005, players have raised more than £950 million for over 9,000 charities and good causes. With daily £1,000 draws, weekly Saturday prizes, and multi-million-pound shared pots, there are frequent opportunities for North East residents to win.
