A woman has compared chocolate from Marks & Spencer and Harrods, declaring M&S the winner in a head-to-head taste test. Laura Khoshaba and her mother Ann, who regularly review supermarket foods, sampled milk, white, and dark chocolate from both retailers.
Laura described the Harrods milk chocolate as 'really average' and likened it to 'Easter egg chocolate', while her mother said she was 'not impressed'. In contrast, the M&S milk chocolate was deemed 'much better', with Laura noting it was 'less fake tasting' and Ann praising its smoothness and cocoa flavour.
For white chocolate, both women enjoyed the Harrods bar, which Ann compared to Milkybar. However, they were equally impressed by the M&S version, with Laura unable to decide a favourite between the two.
The dark chocolate test saw Harrods' 70% cocoa bar described as 'nice and smooth' and 'perfect' by Laura. Yet M&S's 55% cocoa dark chocolate was hailed as a 'winner' by Ann, who called it one of her 'favourite dark chocolates'. Laura urged viewers to try it.
Some commenters questioned the blind nature of the test, while one noted that 55% cocoa is not considered true dark chocolate for health benefits. Dark chocolate with high cocoa content is rich in antioxidants and may support heart health, but should be consumed in moderation due to calorie density.
