Meghan Markle's As Ever UK launch faces brutal poll blow

Meghan Markle has received a setback just days after reports emerged that her As Ever brand could start selling products in the UK. The Duchess of Sussex is reportedly planning to offer some of her As Ever goods to British customers now that she is living back in Britain. This marks a significant shift for the brand, which launched last year and has only ever sold products in the US.

While not all of Meghan’s As Ever items will be available to UK customers, reports claim that some key products will be. According to The Sun, Meghan is reportedly looking into selling her £11 tins of tea and £50 scented candles in Britain. Other items that could be sold to UK customers include a £15 limited edition bookmark.

Poll reveals reader sentiment

Although these products are popular among Meghan’s fans in the US, it is questionable how well they will perform in Britain. This is especially the case after a new poll revealed that many people have no interest in buying goods from Meghan Markle’s As Ever shop when it starts selling to UK customers.

Shortly after 10 am on October 12, The Daily Express launched a poll asking its readers whether they would buy from Meghan Markle’s As Ever brand when it sells its products in the UK. The poll, which finished at 3.30 pm on October 13, found that the majority of Daily Express readers voted no - 99%. Only 1% of Daily Express readers said they will be buying As Ever goods when they are sold in the UK, while 0% said they don’t know.

Readers share their views

This is likely to be a blow for Meghan, who relocated back to the UK this summer with her husband Prince Harry and their two children. A representative for Meghan has been contacted for comment about whether and when Meghan’s As Ever goods will be available to buy in the UK.

After voting in The Daily Express poll, many readers shared their opinions about whether they would buy the As Ever goods. One reader wrote: “No! Much rather buy from the King's Trust. They sell everything she sells and more.” Someone else said: “No because I don't like her and never will. She thinks she can do what she wants and get away with it. I will never forget what she has said about this country.”

Another person wrote: “Not a hope in hell …apart from which I can’t afford anything of hers doesn’t she know we’re in a cost of living crisis.” Some of the 1% who said they would and will be buying As Ever products also shared their reasons for this. One commenter said: “Yes I would.” Another said: “TOTALLY 200% will purchase for myself and for gifts. Love the ease with which she presents items and the class in how they are packaged and shipped. Love Meghan and I wish her well.”

As Ever has been contacted by The Daily Express for further information about these rumoured plans.
