McDonald's Bank Holiday Opening Times 2026: Most Restaurants Open as Usual

McDonald's has confirmed that the majority of its UK restaurants will be open as normal on the upcoming bank holiday Monday, May 25, 2026. With over 1,400 branches across the UK and Ireland, around 80% are franchised, meaning opening hours can vary by location.

While most outlets are expected to operate standard hours, some may close early or alter their schedules. The chain advises customers to check their local restaurant using its online locator tool to avoid disappointment. For instance, the Brighton Western Road branch is open from 5am to 11:45pm daily, including the bank holiday, while locations in Leicester Abbey Way, Liverpool Lord Street, and Cardiff Newport Road operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Alongside the bank holiday schedule, McDonald's has introduced several menu updates. The Big Tasty and Double Big Tasty have returned, featuring beef patties, cheese, lettuce, onions, tomato, and smoky sauce on a sesame bun. Mozzarella Dippers are also back as a side option.
