McDonald's is rolling out a special promotional offer for breakfast enthusiasts across the United States, with a one-day-only discount on its popular McMuffin sandwiches. On March 2, in honour of National Egg McMuffin Day, the fast-food giant will provide both Egg McMuffins and Sausage McMuffins for just $1 each, a significant reduction from their usual prices ranging between $3.99 and $5.99.
App-Exclusive Deal with Strict Limitations
To redeem this enticing offer, customers must place their orders exclusively through the official McDonald's mobile application during standard breakfast service hours. The promotion is strictly limited to one McMuffin per individual, ensuring broad participation while maintaining inventory control. This digital-only strategy encourages app adoption and streamlines the ordering process for both patrons and restaurant staff.
Classic Breakfast Favourites at a Fraction of the Cost
The Egg McMuffin, a longstanding morning staple, features Canadian bacon, a freshly cooked egg, and a slice of melted American cheese, all nestled between two halves of a toasted English muffin. Its counterpart, the Sausage McMuffin, substitutes the bacon with a savoury sausage patty, offering a heartier alternative for those preferring a meatier breakfast option.
Big Arch Burger Makes Its American Debut
Merely one day following the McMuffin promotion, McDonald's will introduce the Big Arch Burger to the United States market for the very first time. This substantial burger, launching on March 3, comprises two quarter-pound beef patties, three slices of cheese, onions, pickles, lettuce, and a distinctive tangy sauce, all served on a sesame and poppy seed bun.
Previously tested in Canada and various European nations, the Big Arch Burger has already secured a permanent position on menus in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Jill McDonald, the global chief restaurant experience officer for the chain, highlighted during a recent earnings call that customer response has been overwhelmingly positive, describing it as "the most McDonald's, McDonald's burger" that fulfills demand for a more substantial offering while retaining the brand's iconic flavour profile.
Pricing and Nutritional Considerations
Although the exact pricing for the Big Arch Burger in the U.S. remains undisclosed, a comparable meal package in Canada—including fries and a beverage—costs approximately 12.59 Canadian dollars, equating to roughly $9 American. This positions it as a premium option compared to most existing menu items. Additionally, the burger contains 1020 calories, though its long-term availability in American outlets is yet to be confirmed.
Additional Seasonal and Limited-Time Offerings
Beyond the McMuffin discount and Big Arch Burger introduction, McDonald's has unveiled several other special products this year. A new hot honey dipping sauce has recently debuted, providing a sweet and spicy complement to various menu items. Furthermore, the iconic Shamrock Shake, a mint-flavoured green milkshake, returned earlier this month in anticipation of St. Patrick's Day celebrations, continuing a beloved seasonal tradition.
These strategic promotions and product launches demonstrate McDonald's ongoing efforts to innovate its menu, engage customers through digital platforms, and capitalise on seasonal events to drive traffic and enhance brand loyalty in a competitive fast-food landscape.
