Maybelline has updated its best-selling Lash Sensational Sky High mascara with a new tubing formula. The Sky Tubes version promises longer-looking, lifted lashes with improved staying power and simpler removal, according to the brand.
Tubing mascaras differ from standard formulas by wrapping each lash in lightweight, flexible tubes that resist smudging, flaking and transfer. The key benefit is removal: the tubes slide off with warm water, avoiding the need for oily cleansers or excessive rubbing, which is gentler on the delicate eye area and suitable for sensitive skin.
Five IndyBest testers trialled the mascara across various lash types. One tester with droopy lashes found the tubing formula maintained curl and added half a millimetre of length, disguising a period of lash shedding. The formula includes shea butter and castor oil for lash health. Another tester praised the long, bristled brush for capturing every lash, achieving a fluttery, doe-eyed look, though noted slight clumping with heavy application.
Testers reported that the mascara provided impressive black pigment and soft lashes, with coverage lasting all day. However, one tester with thick lashes found it gave volume but not enough curl compared to high-end mascaras. Removal was consistently described as easy: a warm water compress and a couple of swipes with a flannel removed the tubes cleanly.
