Nic Taylor, founder of skincare brand 47 Skin, has shared how a pot of cream from his grandmother transformed his skin after more than a decade of struggling with blemishes. The key ingredient, Silver Chitoderm, kills 99.9% of bacteria responsible for breakouts, and Taylor says the Anti-Blemish & Scar Repair Serum cleared his spots in just four days.
Taylor had tried numerous products and treatments, spending thousands of pounds, before receiving the cream in the post from his grandmother in January 2017. 'I was sceptical, but to my complete surprise, it cleared my spots and blemishes in just four days,' he said. He later partnered with the scientist behind the formulation to launch 47 Skin, which has been named one of the UK's fastest-growing privately owned businesses by The Sunday Times 100 List for two consecutive years.
The brand's best-selling Anti-Blemish and Scar Repair Serum retails for £29 and is designed to soothe and protect the skin, reducing the visibility of blemish marks. Other products include the Everyday Cleanser (£29), Silver Mask (£24), and Daily Moisturiser (£34). Customers have praised the range, with one shopper commenting in June 2025: 'I love 47 skin and would recommend anyone with blemish prone skin to use it.' Another said: 'It's the clearest my skin has looked in over 10 years.' However, some reviews on Trustpilot have been mixed, with one customer noting 'no difference at all after a month of using it.'
