The National Lottery Lotto draw on Wednesday, August 26, offers a jackpot of £2.8 million. A single player could win the life-changing sum by matching all six main numbers drawn.
Last week's Lotto draw on Wednesday, August 19, handed out more than £4 million in prizes. Tonight's jackpot will be won if a player matches all the right numbers, but smaller cash prizes are available for matching some numbers.
Prize tiers and draw format
Matching five main numbers plus the bonus ball wins £1,000,000, while matching five main numbers secures £1,750. Since a major change in June, each Lotto draw now consists of two separate rounds, and all players are automatically entered into both draws with one ticket.
Players buy their £2 ticket in the same way as before. In the first round, a set of 59 balls is entered into the draw machine, with six balls drawn plus the Bonus Ball. Matching two or more numbers from your Lotto line wins cash. In the second round, another set of 59 balls is used, with six balls and the Bonus Ball drawn, and the same rule applies.
