A Liverpool business owner is running a school uniform appeal for the fourth year to help families in need across Merseyside. Kate Stewart, 44, originally from Clubmoor, is asking the public to donate what they can to support disadvantaged families as children return to school.
Campaign aims to ease financial strain
The appeal encourages donations of any amount - whether it's £2, £5, £10, £50 or £100 - to raise funds for families who are struggling.
Kate told the ECHO: "What you've got to understand is we're living in a cost of living crisis, this is people who work as well. People go to work, and just haven't got any money left when they've paid their bills, food, and utilities. There's no money left. Children returning to school is expensive. You've got to buy their uniform, stationery, socks, shoes and everything else."
Fundraising page tops £17,000
Kate added: "The thought of parents sitting there pulling their hair out, I just can't have it, I've got to do something to help."
The Just Giving page has reached over £17,000 at the time of publication.
