Bank customers are being told this is their "last chance" to claim a free £100 supermarket voucher from Santander. MoneySavingExpert (MSE) has highlighted the offer, which is about to expire.
Offer deadline and key details
In a recent post on X, formerly Twitter, MSE said: "Newbies have until Wednesday, August 26, to grab a £100 supermarket voucher simply for opening a top bills account - no switch necessary".
Additional details on the MSE website add that the Santander Edge account also provides 1% cashback on household bills settled by Direct Debit - up to £10 per month. The account carries a £3 monthly fee, though for a typical household the cashback more than covers this cost. Qualifying bills include Council Tax, energy, water, broadband, mobile and home phone, and TV.
Account features and voucher conditions
The account additionally features a "debit card for spending overseas with near-perfect exchange rates", a linked saver offering 6% variable for a year on balances of up to £4,000, and an 8% variable regular saver into which you can deposit as much as £200 monthly for a year.
Should you open the account by tomorrow, August 26, and are a new Santander customer, you'll receive a £100 supermarket voucher when you open the account via MSE links and spend a minimum of £200 in supermarkets across four or more debit card transactions in each of September, October and November. Once you've completed this process, Santander will contact you via email by December 14 to claim the voucher, which must be redeemed within 30 days.
Eligibility and redemption
The voucher can then be spent at Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, or Waitrose. MSE notes that you will be ineligible for the voucher if you've received one, or a switching bonus, from Santander within the past year - and you must not currently hold any Santander product either.
