Jet2 has clarified its baggage rules for passengers travelling on group bookings, following a customer enquiry on social media. The airline explained that those with a group booking can pool their luggage weight, provided the overall weight limit is not exceeded and no single bag weighs more than 32kg.

A passenger contacted Jet2 with a question regarding a group booking for 10 individuals, each entitled to 22kg of checked luggage. The customer asked: "If one person is over does all the weight pool together or does everyone individual need to be 22kg?"
Jet2 responded to clarify the policy, stating: "Yes you are able to pool your luggage providing you do not go over your overall weight limit and no one bag weighs more than 32kg."
The customer followed up with another query: "So one person won't be charged if their case is overweight slightly and the rest are under?" The airline confirmed: "That's correct. If one bag is slightly over, but others are under, you will still have room within your overall allowance and will not be charged."
Official Guidance on Excess Baggage
According to Jet2's website, no single item of baggage may exceed 32kg. Any baggage that surpasses the total weight allowance will be carried subject to availability, and an excess baggage fee may apply. Passengers who need to pay excess baggage charges while abroad can typically do so in local currency using a credit or debit card. The airline also notes that all UK departure airports are cashless, so only card payments are accepted. Travellers with excess baggage are advised to allow extra time for check-in.
This announcement comes as Jet2 recently unveiled numerous new routes launching from summer 2027, including connections from UK airports to popular Spanish and French holiday destinations. The airline currently operates flights to locations such as Alicante, Lanzarote, Krakow, Gran Canaria, Marrakech, and Naples.
