Some households in Jersey are eligible for a one-off payment of £516.50 through the Community Costs Bonus (CCB), with applications now open for the 2026 scheme.
The support, which is available only to eligible residents of the self-governing British Crown Dependency off the coast of Normandy, has been brought forward to July for the past couple of years to provide help "as soon as possible", The Government of Jersey previously said.
Eligibility rules for the payment
The eligibility criteria are the same as in 2025. To qualify, at least one adult in the household must have lived in Jersey for at least five years, the household must have had a combined tax liability of less than £2,735 in 2025, and no member of the household can have an open Income Support Claim within the previous seven days of application.
Residents are advised not to apply until they have received their latest tax liability assessment.
Application timeline and payment details
New applicants were able to start applying for this year's scheme from July 14, 2026. The current scheme will run until the end of June 2027.
Last year, authorities on the island said customers "who were eligible for an automatic payment and have received their 2024 tax assessment will have received their payment by 24 July".
Claimants confirmed to be eligible are transferred the cash automatically. Jersey also has an equivalent of the Winter Fuel Payment for older Britons to support with heating costs.
Future of the scheme
Authorities in Jersey have yet to confirm whether the scheme will return next year. An estimated £2.466million was allocated to support the scheme from existing budgets, the island's government said.
