Fans of Imperial Leather soap have discovered that the iconic red and gold sticker on the bar has a practical purpose beyond branding. The sticker, which remains firmly attached until the soap is almost gone, is designed to prevent the bar from becoming mushy and to extend its lifespan.
The revelation came after a discussion on social media platform X, where users questioned why the sticker stays on so well. One user suggested that the soap should be placed with the sticker side down in the dish, preventing a 'soggy bottom'. Imperial Leather confirmed this theory, stating that the sticker acts as an integrated soap dish.
A spokesperson for the brand explained that when the soap is used, the sticker makes the top surface concave. After use, the soap should be placed upside down, allowing water to run off and minimising contact with the soap tray. This helps the bar last longer and saves money.
