Home Bargains has recalled a batch of Lay's Sour Cream & Dill Crisps over an undeclared allergy risk. The affected snack, sold in Home Bargains stores, is being pulled from shelves because it contains milk and wheat (gluten) that are not listed on the label.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued the alert, stating that ASR Solutions Ltd is recalling the product. The recall applies to Lay's Sour Cream & Dill Crisps in 125g packs with a Best Before date up to and including October 31, 2026.
Allergy risk
According to the FSA, "the product contains milk and wheat (gluten), making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, wheat or gluten, or with coeliac disease."
In its warning notice, Home Bargains said: "ASR Solutions Ltd is recalling Lay's Sour Cream & Dill Crisps 125g sold through Home Bargains stores as the product contains milk and wheat which is not mentioned on the label. This means this product is a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk and wheat."
What shoppers should do
Customers who have bought the affected crisps and have an allergy, intolerance or sensitivity to milk or wheat are urged not to eat them. The retailer has asked shoppers to return the product to any Home Bargains store for a full refund.
