Beauty journalist Louise Whitbread tested the Hello Klean Showerhead 2.0 for seven months to assess its effectiveness against hard water. The showerhead uses a two-step filtration system to reduce chlorine, metals and impurities that can damage hair and skin.
Installation is simple: twist off the old showerhead and screw on the new one. The filter contains KDF 55 to remove heavy metals and neutralise chlorine, activated carbon to trap contaminants, and amino acid granules to preserve natural hair oils. The filter lasts around 50 washes, with refill cartridges costing £35.
Whitbread noticed a marked improvement in water softness after just one use. Over the months, her hair felt cleaner, lasted longer between washes, and her hairdresser commented on improved condition. The showerhead also reduced post-shaving dryness on her legs.
Available in black, beige and chrome, the showerhead is lightweight and fits standard showers. Whitbread recommends it for colour-treated hair and considers it a worthwhile investment for tackling hard water issues at the source.
