Sunbed wars have become a notorious part of many holidays, with guests racing at dawn to secure prime spots by the pool. However, one hotel in Paphos, Cyprus, has found a peaceful solution that leaves the poolside looking deserted each morning.
Mark Brown, known as Right Guys Reviews, shared a TikTok video showing the pool area completely free of towels, despite the hotel being fully booked. He explained that guests are given plastic 'pool towel' exchange cards at check-in. Each morning, they swap these for towels at the pool services kiosk, where they are also assigned specific sunbeds for the day.
This system eliminates the need for early-morning scrambles or arguments over loungers. Viewers praised the approach, with one recalling having to get up at 6am on a previous holiday to secure beds. Another said they had experienced allocated sunbeds in Tenerife and found it 'brilliant'.
The hotel's method ensures every guest has a guaranteed spot, promoting fairness and safety by preventing poolside rushes. While the resort appears quiet, it is simply a result of the orderly management system.
