Dunkin' is offering one million free coffees to customers across the United States today. The coffee chain announced the giveaway on Monday via an Instagram Story video depicting a woman posting a flyer featuring an iced coffee photo with the caption: "WANTED. Crime: Causing daily dependency. Status: Active." The flyer's bottom read: "Bounty — 1,000,000 free coffees. Tuesday. Turn yourself in to Dunkin'."
How to Claim the Free Coffee
According to multiple reports, customers must place their order through the Dunkin' app and enter the promo code "COFFEEISFREE" in the Offers & Rewards section to redeem their free drink. However, there are limitations: Cold Brew and Extra-Large Hot Coffee are excluded, and each customer is limited to one free coffee.
Upcoming Beverage Buckets
The coffee giveaway precedes the return of Dunkin's viral 48-ounce drink buckets, scheduled for May 22. Food blogger Markie Devo noted that customers ordering an iced coffee or refresher on that date can receive it in the massive Beverage Buckets, which feature a unique lid, handle, and straw. The price remains undisclosed, and availability is limited to participating locations while supplies last.
When Dunkin' tested the buckets in select Massachusetts and New Hampshire stores in February, an iced coffee cost $8.99 and a refresher $9.49. Reactions were mixed: some customers were thrilled at the prospect of a large caffeine dose, while others expressed frustration over the limited release.
Other New Offerings
Dunkin' has introduced several other new items. Last month, as part of its summer menu launch, the chain joined the dirty soda trend with the Dunkin' Dirty Soda, a blend of Pepsi, coffee milk, and sweet cold foam. The summer lineup also includes Black Cherry refreshers and an Oreo-themed selection of espresso, matcha, and frozen drinks.
In January, Dunkin' entered the protein craze by launching its first Protein Milk, described in a press release as "a simple way to add protein to the drinks they already love." Each medium-sized beverage contains 15 grams of protein, offering a "creamy, familiar taste without a chalky texture or aftertaste."
