CeraVe Anti-Ageing Products Rival Expensive Options, Beauty Editor Says

Almost seven years after CeraVe launched in the UK, the brand continues to grow in popularity, thanks in part to TikTok virality and its effective, affordable formulas. Known for strengthening the skin barrier, CeraVe uses a blend of three essential ceramides and MVE technology for slow-release ingredient delivery. The range suits all skin types, from dry to blemish-prone, and has recently expanded with the advanced repair ointment.

Beauty editor Lucy Partington, who has used CeraVe since its UK launch, highlights the hydrating cleanser as a cult favourite. This non-foaming gel cleanser removes makeup without stripping the skin, containing ceramides and hyaluronic acid to retain moisture. It is fragrance-free, non-comedogenic, and suitable for twice-daily use.

The advanced repair ointment, launched in the UK in early 2024, targets dry, chapped skin. This thick emollient cream protects against water loss and provides long-lasting hydration. Partington found it cleared dry patches within days and uses it on lips and cuticles.

The UK's only CeraVe retinol is an entry-level formula that smooths texture and reduces post-acne marks without irritation. Partington notes that CeraVe products rival more expensive options, offering dermatologist-approved results at accessible prices.
