Center Parcs booking rule change sparks customer fury

Center Parcs has introduced a new booking policy that has infuriated customers, requiring them to cancel spa or activity bookings at least seven days in advance to receive a full refund, instead of the previous 12-hour window. The change, branded as 'incredibly unfair' and 'greedy', will take effect in October.

Details of the Policy Change

Under the updated policy, guests who cancel less than seven days before their scheduled activity will face a 50% cancellation fee. The holiday park offers various paid activities, including tree trekking, minigolf, and bowling, which can cost up to £45 for bowling, £17 for badminton, and £50 for spa access.

Customer Reactions

One customer said: 'How disappointing and incredibly unfair for a venue that already charges excessively. The cost of activities is already ridiculous.' Another warned: 'The effect will be that we book significantly less activities, if any at all.' Customers are concerned about losing flexibility if they fall ill or face poor weather.

Cost Concerns

A stay at Center Parcs for a family of four can exceed £3,000 for a premium lodge, not including additional activity costs. The policy change has been slammed as 'greedy' and 'ridiculous' by affected guests.

Official Statement

A Center Parcs spokesperson said: 'We have made some changes to our activity and Aqua Sana Forest Spa cancellation policy for guests staying at Center Parcs from Monday 12 October 2026 onwards. Guests can now amend or cancel these bookings up to seven days before the scheduled start time and receive a full refund. Cancellations made within seven days will incur a 50% cancellation fee.'
