Boots Launches Jawhara: Arabian Perfumes Under £15 That Smell Expensive
Boots Jawhara Perfumes Under £15 Smell Expensive

Boots has introduced a new affordable fragrance brand, Jawhara, inspired by Arabian perfumery. Priced at just £14.99 for 100ml, the five unisex scents are already winning praise from shoppers who say they 'smell expensive' and offer excellent longevity and sillage.

Jawhara: A Jewel of a Fragrance Range

The name Jawhara means 'jewel' in Arabic, and the collection draws on traditional notes like oud, amber, and musk. However, these fragrances have been reinterpreted for everyday wear, making them light enough for summer yet sophisticated for evenings out. The range launched last week online and in select Boots stores, perfectly timed for Father's Day and holiday gifting.

Each scent comes in a colour-coordinated bottle, and the 100ml size offers remarkable value. The five options include:

  • Sultan Rose – A floral blend of saffron, rose, peony, and vanilla incense. One Amazon reviewer said: 'I wanted exactly a rose smell, but it also has a nice touch of bakhoor smell, which just smells expensive.'
  • Golden Nectar – Combines bergamot, pear, white florals, musk, and vetiver.
  • Sweet Dates – A sweet, indulgent fragrance with vanilla, raspberry, and caramelised amber. A shopper noted: 'Fantastic fragrance... good sillage and longevity. If you like sweet, this is a great addition.' Another added: 'Rich, juicy dates... it's a very rich, sexy scent. I get around 8-9 hours of wear.'
  • Oud Velvet – A deep woody-amber with saffron, oud, and creamy vanilla. Perfect for a night out, say shoppers.
  • Amberwood Nomad – An aromatic blend of cardamom, myrrh, and cedarwood with a smooth ambery base.

While the packaging is noted as feeling 'cheap,' the quality of the juice itself impresses. The range is unisex, though Oud Velvet and Amberwood Nomad lean more traditionally masculine.

Affordable Arabian-Inspired Scents

Jawhara arrives as British consumers increasingly embrace global beauty trends, from Korean skincare to Middle Eastern ingredients like oud. It offers a budget-friendly alternative to premium brands like Kayali, which sells similar scents but at much higher prices – £28 for 10ml or £110 for 100ml.

For those curious about Arabian fragrances but deterred by cost, Jawhara provides an accessible entry point. Whether for a Father's Day gift or a personal summer treat, this collection is well worth exploring.
