Tog ratings measure how much warmth a duvet provides. “In the summer, you should opt for a seven tog duvet or below,” advises Hannah Shore, head of sleep science at Mattress Online. “If you find yourself struggling to sleep due to being too hot, or constantly sticking a leg out of the duvet to try and cool down, then try a lower tog duvet.” For those especially sensitive to warmer weather, she recommends choosing a 4.5 tog or lower.
