Barclays has unveiled two new current account switching promotions, offering customers up to £200 in cash or luxury experiences worth as much as £600. The offers are available from June 9 to August 27, 2026, as competition among high street banks intensifies.
Two Tiers of Rewards
Anyone opening a standard Barclays current account and completing a full switch can claim a £200 cash reward. To qualify, customers must transfer at least two active direct debits and deposit £2,000 within 30 days of opening the account.
For those opting for a Barclays Premier account, the rewards include Michelin-starred dining experiences, luxury hotel stays, premium tickets to sporting and entertainment events, and family attraction passes—valued at up to £600. Eligibility for a Premier account requires an annual income of at least £75,000, £100,000 or more in savings or investments with Barclays, or a combination meeting the criteria.
How to Switch
Customers switching to a Premier account must open the account via the Barclays app, transfer at least two active direct debits, and deposit a minimum of £4,000 within 30 days. Premier rewards may include dining at restaurants associated with celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, luxurious overnight stays, hospitality packages for major events, or yearly family entertainment passes.
All transfers must be completed through the Current Account Switching Service, which ensures payments are redirected and the old account is closed within seven working days. The offers are exclusive to new Barclays current account customers, excluding those who held a Barclays Current or Premier Account before June 9, 2026, or who have previously claimed a Barclays switching incentive.
Additional Benefits for Customers
Existing Barclays customers can also enjoy summer perks. Premier account holders can access Barclays Experiences, including free drinks from Gail's bakery, cinema deals, prize draws, and entertainment competitions. Additionally, all qualifying personal Barclays debit card holders can receive 5% cashback on fuel purchased at Tesco petrol stations until July 31, with a monthly limit of £10.
