Barclays has introduced a new switching incentive worth up to £600, but it is only available to customers who meet stringent eligibility criteria. The offer, described as a 'first-of-its-kind' benefit, targets those opening a Premier Current Account and requires an annual income of at least £75,000, along with £100,000 in savings or investments with the bank.
To qualify, applicants must use the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) via the Barclays app, transfer at least two active direct debits, and deposit £4,000 within 30 days of account opening. The promotion runs from June 9 to August 27, 2026.
Successful switchers can choose from a range of 'signature experiences', including Michelin-star dining at venues like Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay or the Savoy Grill, overnight hotel stays at Dakota Hotels or De Vere with champagne and spa access, premium concert tickets at Wembley, England cricket tickets at Headingley, or annual passes to Merlin Entertainments attractions plus cinema tickets.
For those who do not meet the Premier Account criteria, Barclays is also offering a £200 cash reward for switching to a standard Barclays Current Account. This requires a full switch via CASS, two active direct debits, and a £2,000 deposit within 30 days. The £200 is paid within 28 working days.
Gillean Dooney, head of current accounts and payments at Barclays UK, said: 'We're introducing two different switcher offers this summer — a £200 cash reward or a unique, experience-led offer.' She added that existing customers can also benefit from perks such as cashback on Tesco fuel.
