Banish Toilet Stains With This 20p Hack
Banish Toilet Stains With This 20p Hack

A cleaning expert has shared a simple trick to remove stubborn toilet stains without harsh chemicals. The hack uses a magic eraser, costing as little as 20p per sponge, to eliminate discolouration that bleach cannot fix.

Social media star Kelly, known as @mrsdscleaningreviews on TikTok, demonstrated the method in a video. She showed a toilet seat covered in yellow stains caused by limescale, cleaning chemicals and urine, then effortlessly cleaned it with a wet magic eraser.

Magic erasers are made of melamine foam, a porous material that allows water to pass through. This active component works to remove stains that soap and water cannot tackle. Kelly used the Flash Magic Eraser, available at Sainsbury's for £3 for a pack of two, but other brands offer similar results. A pack of ten on Amazon costs just £2, working out at 20p per sponge.

“Bleach doesn't remove it, it will only discolour it so it's not visible,” Kelly said. “This is my top secret to banishing it for good and making your toilet seat shine.”
