As cold weather persists across Britain, many homes are battling condensation, damp and mould. Dehumidifiers have become a popular solution, and Amazon has reduced the price of a compact model that users describe as an 'excellent' remedy.
The AROEVE Dehumidifier has dropped from £35.99 to £24.61 in a limited-time offer. Standing just 21.4cm tall and under 15cm wide, it is designed for small spaces or easy portability, silently removing up to 450ml of moisture from the air daily.
Features include an automatic shut-off when the water tank is full, a red indicator light for emptying, and colour-changing ambient lighting. Over 1,000 units were purchased on Amazon in the past month, earning an average rating of 4.4 out of five stars.
However, the dehumidifier is best suited for rooms of 10-15m² and may not be adequate for larger homes or severe damp issues. Dehumidifier capacities range from 250ml to 25 litres, with the capacity indicating the volume of water extracted per day under ideal conditions.
One customer commented: 'I'm genuinely surprised by how effective this little dehumidifier is! I ran it overnight and by morning, the tank had already collected a noticeable amount of water.' Another said: 'It does exactly what it's meant to do. We were having quite a bit of condensation problems... This dehumidifier has stopped this.'
Not all feedback was positive; one user noted: 'It's very compact, but it's too noisy for a bedroom, and collects tiny amounts of water.' Another added: 'Some days it works, other days I still have condensation on my windows.'
