Free NHS medical perks, public transport concessions and supermarket savings programs
Once you reach 60 years of age, you are entitled to free NHS prescriptions and biennial eye tests in England. Those claiming the Guarantee Credit element of Pension Credit - a tax-free, means-tested benefit designed to top up weekly income - can also access 100% free NHS dental treatment.
Older adults can access free local bus travel upon reaching age 60 in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland (or at State Pension age in England). Rail users can save a third on overall train fares with a Senior Railcard.
