The brothers behind the viral jacket potato sensation SpudBros have been inundated with demand on their first day at The Hoppings in Newcastle and are ready for another busy day.
SpudBros at The Hoppings
After being swamped with queues during their first day of business at The Hoppings, viral sensation SpudBros has stocked up again for day two. As previously reported, the brothers behind the TikTok-famous jacket potatoes have set up stall at the Newcastle fair for the first time, and they were greeted by a line of eager customers from the off.
When the fair opened at 2pm on Friday, the Lancashire brothers Jacob and Harley Nelson already had a queue outside their hard-to-miss red outlet, which stands out at the south end of the Town Moor site. Taking a brief break from serving, Jacob said: "We're buzzing - we've never done anything like this before."
Harley added: "The people around here are amazing - they love it! The Geordies are unbelievable, one of my favourite sorts of people."
Expansion in the North East
Following on from the success of their recently-launched SpudBros Express franchise in North Tyneside, they are now set to introduce more Geordies to their menu of jacket potatoes with a pick range of toppings, which first hit the big time on TikTok during the pandemic. Following Friday's rush on potatoes, which saw them sell out early, they posted a message on Facebook ahead of Saturday's 1pm reopening, saying: "Day 2 … we've got enough spuds."
SpudBros will be on site for the coming nine more days of The Hoppings. That's a lot of potatoes.
