SkiYodl Ltd, a Norwich-based travel platform specialising in ski trips, has entered voluntary liquidation, leading to the cancellation of all its holiday packages. The company, which began trading in March 2018, sold ski holidays across several European destinations, including self-catered chalets, apartments, hotels, ski hire, and airport transfers.
Focus on French Alps
The mobile-led platform focused heavily on the French Alps, offering deals in resorts such as Méribel, Tignes, Avoriaz, and Val Thorens. It previously claimed to be "the largest online marketplace of hand-picked stays and experiences in the mountains."
On LinkedIn, the firm described itself as a "collective of ski industry professionals driven to create a customer-centric booking experience with skiing at its core." In 2024, it was ranked 44th in the Startups 100 index, an annual ranking of the most innovative new businesses in the UK.
Liquidation and Customer Advice
Richard Cacho from RCM Advisory Limited has been appointed liquidator. ABTA, the UK's largest travel association, stated that currently, they do not believe there were any current customer bookings for package holidays at the time of liquidation. However, they urged anyone who thinks they may be affected to email claimsrequest@abta.co.uk with their booking details.
For accommodation-only bookings, which are not covered by ABTA protection, customers who paid by credit or debit card are advised to contact their card issuer for a refund. Those who paid by other methods, such as bank transfer, should submit a claim to the liquidator, RCM Advisory Limited.
The reason behind the winding-up has not been disclosed. The winding-up order was announced on July 22.
