Sarah Ferguson could be set to inherit money from her ex-partner, Paddy McNally, following his death earlier this week, it has been suggested. The former Formula 1 tycoon died at the age of 88 and the pair stayed close after dating before Sarah was married to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Refuge in Swiss Chalet
It has been reported that during his final days, the motorsports mogul gave Sarah - commonly known as Fergie - refuge at his £15million Swiss chalet. It comes after the mother-of-two was evicted from Royal Lodge and stripped of her Duchess of York title amid her connection to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Being pictured or named in the Epstein files doesn't imply any wrongdoing.
Paddy McNally's Wealth
Prior to his death, Paddy amassed the title of the 240th richest person in Britain. Speculation has already grown over whether Sarah will inherit any money from his millions. According to The Sun, a source who knew them said: "Paddy always looked after Sarah and at times over the past four decades she needed a lot of looking after. He never abandoned her in life and even in his final days allowed her safe sanctuary at his home in Verbier."
Properties and Legacy
Paddy's eight-bedroom Verbier chalet, called Les Gais Lutins, is said to have been where Sarah was staying. The luxury property includes a guest suite and was dubbed “Cocaine Castle” in the 1980s for hosting hedonistic parties for the rich and famous. The home is near Andrew’s own former chalet Helora. His multi-million pound property portfolio also includes Ian Fleming’s former home, Sevenhampton Place, in Wiltshire. He is said to have paid £7million for it back in 1987 - with it now having an estimated value of £40million.
