Mohamed Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, has hinted that the next club for the former Liverpool winger will soon be revealed. Salah ended a nine-year stay at Anfield in the summer, reaching a mutual agreement with the Reds to terminate his contract a year early and depart on a free transfer.
Speculation Surrounding Salah's Future
The future of the Egypt international, who helped his country reach the last 16 of the World Cup, has been the subject of continued speculation. Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal have been considered front-runners, but there has also been interest from MLS teams in the United States and Turkish trio Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, and Beşiktaş.
Issa took to social media to provide an update, stating: "We still do not know where Mohamed will play next season but we may know very soon. It is not our style to have discussions with clubs that Mohamed wouldn’t want to play for, just for the sake of noise."
Previous Statements from the Agent
This follows two earlier posts by Abbas on Salah's future. On May 24, he said: "We do not know where Mohamed will play next season. This also means that no one else knows. Beware of the click-w****** attention seekers." That riposte came hours after Salah played his 442nd and final game for Liverpool.
On June 12, Abbas added: "Mohamed is doing perfectly fine and neither he nor I prefer to discuss sensitive future plans with people not involved in them. Both he and I are very private about these things. Yes, people may ask and they may get a standard polite response but that’s about it."
Impact of Salah's Departure
Salah's departure marks the end of an era at Liverpool, where he scored 190 goals in 442 appearances and won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and League Cup. His next move is highly anticipated, with fans and pundits alike eager to see where the 33-year-old will continue his career.
