Elizabeth Siders, the 33-year-old mother at the center of the Ohio 'house of horrors' case, gave birth to four sets of twins within a three-year span, according to public records and amended court filings examined by People Magazine. The first set of twins arrived in February 2022, and the last in January 2025, just before her arrest.
Conjoined Twins and Tragic Loss
One of those pregnancies resulted in conjoined twin girls born in November 2022, who died shortly after delivery. The surviving twins from the other pregnancies were among the 16 children rescued from the property.
Arrests and Charges
On June 30, Gary Siders Sr, 73; Christina Siders, 66; Gary Siders Jr, 36; and Elizabeth Siders were arrested on child endangerment charges, all pleading not guilty. They face second-degree felony child endangering charges in Ohio.
Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson described the collected evidence as 'beyond comprehension.' Officials said the children, aged 18 months to 18 years, 'looked like feral animals' when removed from the home.
Living Conditions and State Funding
The 16 children were allegedly kept captive for years in a 12-by-12-foot room, with no school enrollment or medical records. While the grandparents received state benefits, the children had no educational or medical documentation. Last week, Ohio legislators approved $1 million in emergency funding to cover care, court proceedings, and law enforcement overtime.
Relative Reacts
Ronnie Fletcher, an uncle of the children, said he was unaware of the 'deplorable conditions.' He told WOWK-TV: 'All this is taking money off our table because we can't live our normal lives because the way these people are trying to treat us on something we didn't have nothing to do with. How am I supposed to start a business in this community when I'm being stapled to the face of "pure evil"?''
