O2 has extended its USA roaming benefit for eligible customers until the end of the World Cup, allowing England fans to stay connected without incurring extra charges while following the Three Lions overseas. The mobile network announced the move after England secured a place in the quarter-finals, with the offer running until midnight PT on July 20, 2026.
Who Qualifies for the Free Roaming Offer?
Eligible pay monthly Classic Plan customers travelling in the United States can use their mobile data without paying roaming charges, potentially saving £7 per day on the usual cost of an O2 Travel Bolt On. The offer is already included for Volt customers and those on O2's Plus Plan or Ultimate Plan. Classic Plan customers can benefit by activating an O2 Travel Bolt On or purchasing a qualifying data bolt-on through their MyO2 account, and O2 will automatically credit back the cost for travel between July 6 and July 20, 2026.
O2's Commitment to Roaming
This move builds on O2's position as the only major UK mobile network to include EU roaming as standard across all plans, with customers able to use up to 25GB of data in Europe at no extra cost. Lutz Schüler, CEO of Virgin Media O2, said: "Whether travelling in Europe or heading across the Pond, we're now giving our customers one less thing to worry about this summer by crediting back roaming charges in the USA for the remainder of the tournament."
Additional Benefits for Fans in the UK
Fans staying in the UK can also benefit during the tournament. Through Priority from O2, customers can claim a free hot drink from Greggs the morning after England matches. The offer is available in Greggs stores nationwide between 8am and 11am, giving supporters a caffeine boost after late nights spent watching the action in different time zones.
