Lloyds Bank Issues Clarification on £50 Referral Scheme
Lloyds Bank has released an important update regarding its customer incentive programme, which offers £50 payments to eligible participants. This initiative is accessible to thousands of the bank's account holders, providing an opportunity to earn extra funds through referrals.
How the Referral Scheme Operates
The bank responded to a social media inquiry from a customer asking about referral schemes for recommending Lloyds Bank to friends and family. In a positive reply, Lloyds confirmed that customers can earn £50 when they refer a friend, with the referred individual also receiving £50. The 'Refer a friend' scheme allows customers to accumulate multiple payments throughout the year.
To participate, customers must log into the Lloyds banking app and select 'Share link with a friend'. After sending the referral link, the friend has 30 days to open a qualifying current account using that link. Both rewards are paid within 30 working days of the friend's registration.
Eligibility and Limitations
Only Lloyds current account holders are eligible to make referrals, excluding those with Under 19's Accounts, Smart Start, or Student Accounts. The referred person must be a new Lloyds customer and cannot be opening a Student, Under 19's, or Smart Start account to qualify for the payment.
Customers can refer an unlimited number of people, but earnings are capped at £250 per calendar year through this scheme. This means participants can collect multiple £50 payments up to this limit.
Additional Banking Incentives
Lloyds Bank is also currently offering a £200 bonus for customers who switch to a new Club Lloyds Account, Club Lloyds Platinum Account, or Club Lloyds Silver Account. A higher £500 bonus is available for those transitioning to a Lloyds Premier Account.
For these incentives, customers must complete a full switch using the Current Account Switch Service, transfer at least three direct debits, and meet specific account requirements that vary by offer. More detailed information can be found on the Lloyds Bank website.
