Lee Andrews Transferred to Al-Awir Prison

Katie Price's husband, Lee Andrews, could be released from a Dubai jail within days after being detained over alleged unpaid debts, sources have claimed. According to The Sun, Andrews was transferred to Al-Awir prison on Monday after initially being held in isolation following his arrest.

Prison sources have claimed Andrews, who allegedly wears a hairpiece, was required to have his head shaved upon entering the prison and was visibly unhappy with the move. The businessman was reportedly arrested over multiple unpaid debt cases in the UAE, including an alleged dispute with a car rental company over an outstanding bill of 266,060 dirhams (around £54,000).

Additional Debts and Legal Claims

Court documents seen by The Sun show a separate claim relating to an alleged debt of 74,817.50 dirhams (approximately £15,000) owed to a UAE law firm, believed to relate to unpaid legal fees. Sources familiar with the matter claim Andrews has told fellow inmates he has now secured the money needed to settle the debts and expects to be released once the payments have been processed by the authorities.

“Lee was quick to mouth off about getting released the last time he was in and today has been no different,” the insider told the publication. “He said the money to secure his release is sorted and that he’s now just waiting for the system over here to process that and let him out. Lee’s boasts make him unpopular with the other blokes in here because most people are serving lengthy stretches. The only laugh they’ve got is about his hair because he’s such a vain b*****d and they know he’ll hate having it all cut off again.”

Katie Price's Reaction and Background

His wife, Katie Price, 48, is currently in the UK promoting the release of her Sky documentary. Last week, she appeared on This Morning where she defended her wedding to Lee which took place in January just days after meeting. Within months, Andrews vanished and claimed to have been kidnapped, only for it to emerge he had been held in a jail cell.

Prison sources have claimed Andrews was required to have his head shaved upon entering the prison. Andrews, a self-proclaimed millionaire who has faced conman allegations, was released from prison in Dubai in June after being arrested on reported fraud charges. He has consistently denied any wrongdoing and allegations he is a conman.

Ongoing Allegations and Legal Troubles

Since coming out, Andrews has been making personalised videos for fans through the website Cameo to bring in some money. Last month, US businesswoman Crystal Janke alleged she gave £123,000 to invest in one of Andrews' schemes only to be left with nothing. Later in June, it was alleged Andrews took £5,000 from a "desperate" woman in Dubai while promising to arrange a property investment visa for her. The woman claims Andrews assured her he had friends in the Dubai government who could arrange the visa she required "through the back door". But she says the requested visa never materialised and she is still waiting for answers, The Sun reports.

Price has stated her marriage to Andrews is "f***ed up" after he made a series of bizarre claims about her children. Andrews said he has adopted her kids and claimed they are trying to have a baby together. Andrews' ex Dina Taji, who was with him for three and a half years, previously accused him of taking out a £200,000 mortgage in her name without her knowledge shortly after they married - something he denies. She reportedly took legal action against Andrews, leading to him spending three weeks in a Dubai jail and being hit with a travel ban. Two of his other exes have branded him a "liar" and urged Price to never give him any money.

The Standard has contacted Andrews and Price's rep for comment.
