Suitcase murder suspect's hate posts
Sharif David Ahmadzai, 26, a boxer and former Afghan refugee, has been charged in connection with the murder of Elisabeth Jane Ross, 38, from Edinburgh. Her body was found in a suitcase in Greece last month. Ahmadzai's social media posts show hatred for Christian aid workers, and he allegedly ran a religious refugee charity in Athens.
In a May Facebook post, he wrote: "Shame on corruption dressed like charity. Shame on business wearing the name of Christ." He also shared a memoir chapter titled "corrupt NGOs" and spoke of "karma" regarding a refugee camp experience.
Ex-Celtic star's wife robbed
Megan McKenna, wife of ex-Celtic player Oliver Burke, was robbed at home in London in 2024. Three masked men with machetes and baseball bats hacked a hole in her bedroom wall. She was alone and had locked her door. She confronted them, and they took her jewellery before leaving.
Speaking on Jamie Laing's podcast, she said: "I woke up to my whole house shaking... They're three masked men with machetes and baseball bats, and they managed to hack a hole in my wall... I was shaking. I'd cut my foot. There was blood everywhere."
Girl dies in Arbroath
A nine-year-old girl died after an incident at Elliot Industrial Estate in Arbroath. Four patients were taken to Ninewells Hospital, including the girl, who later died. Police arrested a 35-year-old man, and the girl's family was from West Yorkshire. The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed four patients were transported.
Far-right thug battered his mum
Alan Miller, a far-right protester, was ordered to do community service and given a non-harassment order after attacking his mother, Kirsty Miller, 53, at her Glasgow home in December 2023. He shouted, swore, and struck her on the head. He had previously been exposed for abusing ex-partners.
Fraudster's spy scam
Ali Hamuda, 66, avoided jail after defrauding Mostafa Elshehawi, 51, in a £70,000 scam. Hamuda claimed to work for Egyptian special services and said Elshehawi's life was in danger. He also claimed Kris Commons was a Mossad general. Hamuda was sentenced to a curfew and ordered to pay compensation.
