Barclays has clarified the conditions for its £200 switching bonus, requiring customers to deposit at least £2,000 within 30 days of opening a new account. The offer is available to new customers who complete a full switch using the Current Account Switch Service (CASS) by May 28, 2026.
To qualify, applicants must be aged 18 or over and UK residents. They must not have held a Barclays current account on or after March 10, 2024, or previously received a switching cash reward from the bank. The account must be a sole account, not a joint one.
In addition to the deposit, customers need to transfer at least two direct debits to the new account. These are automatically moved as part of the CASS process, which also transfers all incoming and outgoing payments within seven working days. The old account is closed, but payments to it are redirected for at least three years.
Barclays will notify customers by text once conditions are met, and the £200 reward will be credited within 45 working days, appearing as 'Switch Reward' on the statement. Customers can also opt for the £5-per-month Barclays Blue Rewards programme, which offers perks including access to Apple TV at a reduced effective cost.
