Barclays is offering a £175 bonus to new customers who switch to a Barclays Bank Account or Premier Current Account, but time is running out. The offer requires customers to open an account and initiate the switch today, August 28, to be eligible.
To qualify, customers must open one of the qualifying accounts through the Barclays app in their sole name. For the Barclays Bank Account, customers must also join Blue Rewards, which costs £5 per month. The switch must be a full switch using the Current Account Switch Service, including at least two direct debits, and a minimum deposit of £1,500 must be made within 30 days of opening the account.
Customers can initiate the switch by opening the Barclays app, selecting 'Products' on the home page, scrolling to 'Our services', and choosing 'Switch current account'. On-screen instructions will guide them through the process, requiring details of their old debit card. The switch must be completed within 30 days of opening the account.
Joint accounts, customers who opened a Barclays current account before July 15, those eligible only for a Barclays Basic Current Account, individuals under 18, and non-UK residents are not eligible. Barclays will deposit the £175 into the new account within 28 working days of meeting the criteria, labelled 'Switch Reward' on the statement.
