Asda has introduced a new reward for its Rewards members, allowing them to save on fuel for the first time through the Asda Rewards app. The initiative, announced on Monday, July 13, aims to help families reduce their motoring costs.
How the Fuel Bonus Works
Customers who spend over £40 in a single in-store transaction before July 31 will receive a coupon offering 5p per litre off fuel. The coupon is automatically added to the customer’s Asda Rewards app after the shop is completed and can be redeemed at participating Asda petrol stations until Friday, August 7.
The bonus applies to 321 Asda stores and Asda Express sites that sell Asda-branded fuel. For a typical 60-litre family car, this could mean savings of up to £3 per refuel.
Enhancing the Rewards Programme
This new benefit complements existing “Missions” within the app, which allow shoppers to earn cashback and additional savings on their weekly groceries. Rachel Eyre, Chief Customer Officer at Asda, said: “We’re making Asda Rewards even more rewarding! Asda is more than just a supermarket and we’re always looking for new ways to help families save on top of our low prices. Through our new Grocery and Fuel Bonus, customers can now unlock savings on fuel alongside their weekly shop, another step in our plans to keep growing Asda Rewards and give our customers even more value every time they shop with us.”
Future Expansion
Asda has indicated it hopes to extend the offer beyond August, though no specific timeline has been confirmed. The move is part of the supermarket’s broader strategy to enhance its loyalty programme and provide greater value to customers amid rising living costs.
