Aldi Freezes Baby Formula Price at £6.99 Until 2026

Aldi has announced an extension of its price freeze on baby formula, keeping Mamia First Infant Milk at £6.99 until the end of 2026. The move aims to support parents facing cost-of-living pressures, with savings of up to £5 per tub compared to other retailers.

Price Freeze Extended Through 2026

The discount retailer confirmed on Tuesday, June 23, that it is prolonging its baby formula price freeze, originally set to last until summer 2026, through to the end of the year. The £6.99 price has been in place since June 2025. According to research by The Grocer, the average pre-promotional cost of 157 baby formula products in leading supermarkets rose by 9.4% in the first two months of 2026.

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) estimates that households could save over £300 annually by switching to more affordable formula products.

Support for Parents

Julie Ashfield, Chief Commercial Officer at Aldi UK, said: "Household budgets remain under pressure, and some infant formula brands are increasing prices. That's why we're extending our Mamia First Infant Milk price freeze until the end of 2026. We know that every penny counts for parents, particularly during those early years, which is why we're committed to keeping this essential product accessible and affordable."

UK regulations ensure all infant formula products meet nutritional requirements regardless of brand or cost. Aldi states its Mamia Stage 1 First Infant Milk is "suitable from birth" and for combination and bottle-fed babies.

Additional Parent Initiatives

Earlier this year, Aldi revived its Mamia New Parent Fund, offering £100 Aldi vouchers weekly for a year to help parents cover daily essentials after a new baby. Parents can apply by emailing mamiaparentfund@aldi.co.uk with a receipt showing their latest Mamia nappy purchase. Terms and conditions are available at the Aldi press centre.

Aldi was also named Supermarket of the Year at the 2026 Mother and Baby Awards.
