Adam Thomas friends fear new look is cry for help after loss

Former Emmerdale and Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas has his friends incredibly worried after unveiling a new look amid facing difficulties with his sauce brand. The actor, who was crowned champion of I'm A Celebrity... but faced backlash over a bullying scandal, debuted a much shorter haircut in an Instagram video showing him drenched in sweat after an intense gym workout. This is reportedly part of a rebrand following his controversial appearance on the show.

Financial Struggles of Oh My Glaze

Adam's business venture, Oh My Glaze, co-founded by the actor, has not been the success he anticipated. The latest figures from Companies House show the company is £21,055 in debt, with cash reserves of just £290 for 2025. This represents a total loss of approximately £55,000. The sauce brand was recently stocked in Asda stores, but the financials tell a different story.

A source told The Sun: 'Adam was really hoping to get Oh My Glaze off the ground running again. He has been working on the idea for over a decade and he always wanted a side hustle as well as his acting. He has seen others achieve similar things and really believed he could too. But it's been incredibly difficult. And after a horrendous time in the jungle, he really feels like he can't catch a break.'

Friends Worry About New Look

Adam's close friends reportedly worry that his focus on altering his appearance is a 'cry for help' following the financial struggles. After his I'm A Celebrity appearance, a source had said: 'Adam reached the lowest of lows over what happened in the jungle. He's a long way away from ever wanting to put himself back into the reality TV circus again, but he's got his confidence back and he's looking forward to future projects. Instead, he's excited and passionate about focusing on his business. It's like he's got a new lease of life since reflecting on all the drama.'

However, the business struggles have taken a toll. Adam had previously shared his excitement about Oh My Glaze being stocked in Asda, posting on Facebook: 'Omg my new product is in Asda! We built Oh My Glaze, because we wanted healthier sauces without all the ultra-processed rubbish… and now it's officially landed in Asda. Madness!!!! Honestly just feeling super grateful.'

Previous Business Failure

This is not Adam's first business setback. He previously ventured into the food industry with The Spinn, a restaurant that closed amid enormous tax bills, leaving creditors out of pocket. The financial report stated: 'No dividend has been paid to any class of creditor in the liquidation. Due to low levels of realisations, none was anticipated at the outset.' Speaking on the closure, Adam said: 'Unfortunately we have decided to close The Spinn. We did what we had to do with The Spinn and we learnt so much building our first venture and more importantly we had an absolute blast.'

Aftermath of I'm A Celebrity

Adam's time in the jungle was marred by a fierce clash with David Haye and Jimmy Bullard, and a bullying scandal. After the show, he said: 'I'm just tired, I want it all to go away and just be forgotten about. The sad truth is that everyone will go on with their lives but for me, this will be in for me the rest of my life.'
