Tesco has added Pot Noodle to its meal deal snack lineup, a move that has delighted some shoppers for its value while leaving others perplexed about the classification.
New Snack Option Sparks Online Debate
The discovery was shared on TikTok by content creator Dhean Morris from Wales, who posted a tongue-in-cheek video expressing his confusion. He said: "Tesco, I've got a bone to pick with you. The Tesco meal deal has added a new thing onto its roster, and I don't believe what I saw." In the video, Morris filmed the snack section of his local Tesco, showing a row of Pot Noodles with a label specifying they count as a snack in the meal deal.
Morris noted the oddity of a Pot Noodle being categorized alongside small snack pots like Pringles, while larger fruit pots are considered mains. He joked: "Bear in mind, their range of snacks is that this is also a snack. Some guacamole and some chips. You're telling me that's in the same realm as a full Pot Noodle? I'm sorry, I've finished my main of some strawberries, let me crack the kettle on for my snack!"
Shoppers Divided Over Value
Commenters on the video shared mixed reactions. Some agreed that the Pot Noodle should be a main dish rather than a snack. However, many praised the addition for its value, especially for those with hearty appetites. One person said: "Nah, that's class for long shifts or heavy work. I rate that." Another added: "Trust, get a sandwich and a Pot Noodle. Prep the Pot Noodle while eating your sandwich. Game changer." A third wrote: "But you know what, someone might now be able to get their dinner with their lunch and save some money, which is always a bonus."
Pricing and Availability
According to the Tesco website, the Pot Noodle is available in both the standard meal deal, which costs £4.25 or £3.85 with a Clubcard, and the premium meal deal, priced at £6 or £5.50 with a Clubcard. The offer is valid from May 18 to October 12, 2026, suggesting the Pot Noodle may only be a limited-time addition. Shoppers interested in trying the new snack are advised to act quickly.
