St Tropez Self Tan Mousse Down to £22 in Boots Deal
St Tropez Tan Mousse Now £22 at Boots Deal

My favourite 'golden' St Tropez tan is down to £22 in a Boots deal. It's the best self tan I've used - and now it's on offer.

Whenever people ask me about my favourite fake tans, the St Tropez Self Tan Express Mousse always snaps up first prize. Usually priced at £33 on Boots, the tan can be snapped up for £22.66 here.

The St.Tropez mousse is described as a 'fast-acting self-tanner' with a tinted guide colour and allows you to control the depth of your tan by washing it off after one, two or three hours. The tan can be left on for up to eight hours, depending on whether you want a light sun-kissed glow, a medium golden-bronze tan or a deep, dark bronze finish.

To use, apply to clean, dry exfoliated skin using an applicator mitt in sweeping motions. The bottle itself aesthetically looks very high quality and the 200ml bottle will definitely last users a good while.

First Impressions

This tan actually smelt pretty good as far as fake tan goes, with a bit of a perfumed scent. Although you could definitely smell a hint of the classic biscuit fake tan scent, this mousse was slightly toned down.

In terms of consistency, this stuff went on like butter - I was amazed. It smoothed onto my skin so easily and didn’t take long to dry at all.

I left the tan on for three hours for maximum results and although it looked slightly orange before I hopped in the shower, it looked amazing once I’d gotten out. I looked really golden, it gave me more of a holiday tan than a self tan.

Although I waited for the maximum amount of time, the tan still wasn’t overly intense which I really liked. I was seriously impressed with this tan and I’ll definitely be using it on a regular basis.

Shopper Reviews

Don't just take my word for it though, as it's been rated a 4.6 out of 5 by happy Boots shoppers online.

One review read: "This tan is a dream! I’ve used so many self-tans over the years, but this one really stands out. It’s fast-developing, gives a beautiful natural bronze (none of that dreaded orange tint!), and the colour payoff is just stunning. I love that you can control the depth of your tan — 1 hour for a light glow, 2 hours for a medium tan, or 3 hours for that deep, just-back-from-holiday bronze."

"The mousse texture is lightweight, blends like a dream, and dries quickly with no sticky feeling. It fades evenly too, which is rare! The scent is mild (not that usual fake tan smell), and it doesn’t transfer onto sheets or clothes. My skin feels hydrated and smooth thanks to the added nourishing ingredients — I honestly get why it’s rated 96% positive! This one’s a must-have for glowing, confident skin all year round."

A second review read: "It really is a lot better than most other tans I’ve tried always come back to it, worth the price."

A third shopper added: "This is by far the easiest and best fake tan I’ve used. I love that it works super quick, so you can tan last minute and still be great results. It doesn’t leave streaks and gives a gorgeous natural look. It can be used on the body and face. It does have the typical fake tan smell when it starts to do its thing. The bottle lasts about 4/5 applications for me."

It's important to note that not all shoppers were as pleased with the strength of the tan, which was reflected in a review which read: "Not too impressed. You’re supposed to be able to see some kind of a couple after an hour and you don’t. After four hours it’s there but still quite subtle. Depends what you’re after. I’ll stick to their bronzing water."

You can purchase the tan for a reduced price of £22.66 here.
